Company Improves Offer by Adding Shift Incentives

The company and Teamsters Local 135 continued bargaining Saturday. The parties have been exchanging proposals and working through differences to reach an agreement.

Saturday evening, the company presented the union with an improved offer. This new proposal offers to include current shift incentives in the new contract. This means the shift incentives you receive today, will continue to be paid throughout the life of the contract.

The offer is contingent upon the parties reaching a fully recommended tentative agreement before the contract expires at 11:59 PM on June 30. Here’s a summary of our improved offer:

• Maintains current shift incentives throughout the life of the contract
• 6% wage increase in year 1 of the agreement; with 12% over the 2 ½ -year term
  This applies to the applicable contractual hourly rate.
• Maintains the 40-hour guarantee
• NO healthcare costs increase or plan changes
• Continues to provide a company-match 401(k) Plan
• Merges the Bus Driver and Checker positions into the contract
• Brings Skilled-Porter jobs into the contract
  Pallet Porter, Skybox, Sweeper, and Scrubber jobs will no longer be outsourced
• Re-establishes the Down Time Sheet
• Addresses your concerns about subcontracting
